LOS ANGELES – It’s been a busy week in the NBA as the February trade deadline approached.
As many teams in the Western Conference made moves to improve their rosters ahead of the 2025 NBA All-Star break, the Los Angeles Clippers joined the action and sent fan-favorite Terance Mann to the Atlanta Hawks.
In the final hour ahead of the trade deadline, ESPN reported Mann and Bones Hyland were traded to Atlanta for Bogdan Bogdanović and three second-round picks.
Hyland, who was given minimal playing time, seemed delighted for his next chapter.
“Back where it all started,” he wrote on X.
Just moments later, the Clippers also made another deal that sent Kevin Porter Jr. to the Milwaukee Bucks for MarJon Beauchamp.
That marked the third trade the Clippers have made this week. On Saturday, the team traded disgruntled veteran PJ Tucker, Mo Bamba, and a second-round draft pick to the Utah Jazz for Drew Eubanks and Patty Mills.
Mann’s remarkable 39-point performance in the 2021 Western Conference semifinals helped the Clippers erase a 25-point deficit to advance to their first Western Conference Finals in franchise history.
Last season, Mann had a temporary starting role and this season, Mann found himself competing with Porter Jr. for minutes and seemingly fell out of the rotation.
Thursday’s trades come after the Clippers’ lackluster performance against the Lakers on Tuesday night. The team struggled on both ends of the floor and lost 122-97 with all eyes on the Intuit Dome following the stunning Luka Doncic trade.
Other big trades around the NBA
The shocking trade that made Luka Doncic a Laker and sent Anthony Davis to Dallas sent a strong message that the NBA is a business and that no one is considered untouchable.

All eyes were also on Miami as fans waited to see if the Heat would trade Jimmy Butler. It was reported Butler played hardball and refused several possible destinations. Negotiations finally went through with Golden State and now, another All-Star has joined Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
One of the league’s other big trades involved De’Aaron Fox, who got his wish of becoming a San Antonio Spur following his tenure in Sacramento.
